so the overall.. shape and tone of my current project is pretty much set in stone (im SO CLOSE to 50% done you guys) but i was looking through my saved videos folder on bilibili and if im gonna be doing another animatic after this one (honestly pretty likely??? given my. floruitshow obsession that doesnt seem to be going anywhere anytime soon) i REALLY want to attempt something closer to that style of animatic you see a lot on bb that employs more on elaborate editing as opposed to like............... the powerpoint presentation type beat i've got going on now

(nevermind the fact that a lot of the projects that really lodge themselves in my brain were also like collaborations between teams of people with like dedicated editor roles and i still havent fully figured out how to use lightworks. like ive also seen one man projects in this style that turn out absolutely gorgeous so i KNOW it can be done. maybe i'll go figure out if capcut is easier to use lol)

When you listen to a song that really fits a character do you play a little animatic in your mind of that character singing or acting along to the song?

That's pretty much how I've cooked up every major moment throughout all of my work. It's all just one big fantastic edit. 😂 Not so much them directly reflecting the song. It's more like an AMV than a music video, if that helps differentiate lol

A lot of the ones I've shared, coincidentally, aren't really the ones that work like that for me. Those are more "wow this really makes me think of that character" moreso than actually putting anything together narratively.

I love how the title has a perfect double meaning. Going into I thought it would just be the romance side, but I forgot Watari loves spicy food haha. It feels like a blessing/fanservice to my delusional self that she finally got to try Mai's notorious spicy dish. It was also the ABSOLUTE perfect set up for Watari to talk to Mai about her feelings

The yuri angst when Watari said 'you don't have to respond' after confessing in a roundabout way

I am an absolute SUCKER for pay offs like this, and for the three way love triangle between Mai, Yanagi and Watari (I know Watari and Yanagi don't have any romantic chemistry because obviously Watari is a lesbian but they're love rivals, and they have GREAT platonic chemistry). I will always talk about Chary Dance being one of my favourite Tetro episodes EVEN BEFORE I GREW TO LOVE WATARI AND YANAGI AS CHARACTERS IDC <3. Also also Yanagi at your service and those group of episodes are also my everything for these three.

I feel like the fire dancer and figure (ice) skater both falling for the same person is iconic. Mai is the perfect partner for both of them, and what I'm about to say is cheesy but idc, I'm passionate about these three. Mai's ice cold exterior and fiery passion to do what's right by her/protect others is a perfect combination of both Watari and Yanagi in a round about way. They both love her cooking, and they both genuinely love and care for who Mai unapologetically is. I can't even ramble enough to summarise my feelings on why I think these duos/trio works so well.

Literally Yanagi and Watari both got an episode featuring them practicing their talents, how symbolic/iconic is that?

I don't really have much up for it, mostly b/c it deals with a lot of angsty material that i can be a little uneasy about posting. I have a bit of old concept art, and an unposted fic i'm editing/rewriting (b/c it's the first fic i wrote for Rise and i did not have those character voices down lol.) I can probably post the first bits of it later this week. I did say at one point that i would once 'proud family tradition' was over, and it now is.

but yeah, here's the concept art, i'll put the explanation under the break b/c i'm going to be rambling lol.

So Donnie vs. takes place after the thwarted apocalypse (not-apocalypse future). They get taken by Bishop a few months afterwards, and it isn't until about a year after that, that Donnie gets free.

He's the last one still with Bishop at that point, and had been told/convinced through various means that his brothers were dead.

Bishop did a lot of experiments on him, leaving a lot of scaring. One of which was injecting him with Krang DNA to see what would happen. (the eye and veins thing. I think he has some side effects from that but i'm not entirely certain what they are atm)

The fic itself starts after his rescue, b/c i'm focusing on Donnie's search for his brothers (and his own recovery) Rather than the traumatic event itself.

The rescue itself, was certainly a rescue. April, Casey, and CJ worked together to get him out of there as well as gain whatever information they could before they were found out. (Casey went undercover and was able to get some incomplete files and help get donnie out before she was discovered and had to leave.)

donnies in...pretty bad shape at that point, mentally and physically. Physically, he's malnurished, injured, scared, the works. Bishop did a number on him in the year he had him.

Mentally, he's pretty much shut down. He's completely non-verbal, unresponsive most of the time, when he does respond it's very slow and seemingly difficult for him to do so. He describes it that it feels like he's behind several plates of thick glass. He can see and hear what's happening, interacting (or even just feeling anything about it) is very hard to get past the glass.

How he goes from that state to hunting down his brothers is fairly simple. One of the broken, encripted files Casey acquired was Leo's file. None of the three could open it, but they managed to get Donnie to try to do so. He manages it, sees the file, and for the first time in about a year, has hope. He doesn't even wait to show the other three, he just takes off while no one was looking, with April's laptop and CJ's coat (he steals a backpack along the way.)

I don't really want to say much past that. A lot of the rescues/reunions are pretty spoiler heavy, and i don't want to ruin some of the mystery of what's going on in the fic. But know this, he does get all his brothers (and family in general) back. Also, splinter is alive and is part of this, but again, that's spoilers for some things i don't want to ruin.

Again, i'll probably start posting this sometime this week. It's an interesting fic that i've put quite a bit of time into at this point, so i'll be excited to see what is thought of it.

(Wow, that's a long post)

I see so many people who like creating explanations about Hermitcraft/Life series, creating tons of lore and interpret relationships. Especially with Life series, because it's half roleplay server and has a lot of plot and stories potential. Do people remember their previous life? Do they die and reborn? Do they remember each other, do they have scars from previous death? All that lore stuff.

I'm just.. I don't know. I guess I'm not a big fan of more serious roleplay and don't really think about relationships between characters, or the world of Life series itself.

For me it's all just minecraft servers where friends can play and talk and laugh. When I watch Life series, I imagine not characters, but real people. When Scar is talking, I imagine actual irl Scar, sitting on the computer with microphone and talking with his salesman grin. They remember previous seasons and don't think about it as lore, they just remember good times from the past. And after an end of the season they all are in one big group in discord discussing, laughing and talking how they will edit the episode.

Basically, that's the reason, why I animate only funny moments and often draw the irl side of hermits. I would love to draw something more "serious" or create a dramatic amv and be a part of this fandom community, but sadly it's not really my vibe.

In their videos hermits talk a lot about their life and wifes and maybe children.

I remember when Scar wanted to ask something to Xisuma who was afk, Xisuma said, he heard Scar through the headphones across the room. And I imagine actual human Xisuma, his room, microphone, how he rushes through that said room to quickly join the game.

I actually think a lot about irl side of hermits.

I imagine Grian sitting in the living room and doing taxes. Impulse loads the dishwasher. Doc plays with Doccy and teach them about pigeons and sparrows. Joel's in a grocery store decides if he should buy more expensive cheese this time or buy the usual. Mumbo watching videos and procrastinating to go do laundry. Xisuma writes articles about new songs and having a little art block while creating his own music.

I drew irl Grian so many times lol. I really like the irl side of youtubers, they feel more alive.

I don't really know how some hermits (and other people) look, but I still try to imagine them.

So that's why I won't do any lore or angsty animatics. But I still like a lot of AU fanarts, if they are drawn really good or interesting.

So because of all that I feel a little bit outside of the fandom... Like, everyone are having fun, sharing theories, fascinating AUs, drawing cool fanarts for each others. And I'm like.. not into that, I'm sorry. I still want to talk to all of you! I just can't really contribute. So here are my lighthearted funny animatics with 0% angst and where people are nothing more than just good friends on minecraft server.

I believe, people like me don't really watch fanarts or animatics and don't actually know about this whole side of the fandom. I wonder how many of them are here on tumblr ot twitter.

I’m now using Clip Studio Paint for art/animation; I used to use photoshop for art/frame by frame animation, and premiere (and recently, switching over to da vinci resolve instead) for editing/tweening

Nope, But I always tag characters with their name so if you search #CharactersNameHere on this blog you can prob find them if I’ve drawn them before!

What’s the difference between an AMV, PMV, and MAP?

AMV = Animated Music Video, PMV = Picture Music Video, MAP = Multi Animator Project (aka has multiple ppl working on it, amv/pmvs typically only have 1 person who worked on it) Sometimes i dont rlly know whether to call my vids an AMV or PMV cause they’ll usually be some animated shots some more pmv shots lol (i think they’d technically be more accurately called an animatic ?) but i like calling mine AMVs if theres some kind of frame by frame animation in there as animatics tend to be just in the sketched out phase n my amvs are more finished with colour n stuff

I think my amv's are such a wonderful amalgamation of the things i've seen and loved and been inspired by, every song is something I heard from someone else's art, animatics, animations, other amv's, and just songs i've heard from those around me. I'm so thankful to everyone who's ever taken the time to make something amazing. I hope no one ever thinks i'm just stealing ideas, don't get me wrong, I adore everything I draw inspiration from. The call? Learned it from a QSMP animatic! Yaelokre? Tiktok edits! Arcade? A Helluva Boss animation! Unbroken? A fucking cool Sims 4 machinima! Saints? A Gacha Life MV! Humans? An animation meme! I could go on but I made my point. If anyone ever wants to know what inspired my amv's, i'll happily tell! Each one is very special to me!

I've always been thinking...

I've always wanted to make animatics but I couldn't even make them since my device isn't really up for having big projects (animatics, animations, etc.)
